Griffith University was established in 1971 and officially opened its doors in 1975. It was named after Sir Samuel Griffith, who served as the Governor of Queensland and was the first Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia. Griffith University is the first Australian university to award degrees in Environmental Science Studies, International Business, and Asian Studies. Griffith University has secured a leading position among the top 10 research universities in Australia in terms of research quality, according to the 2010 Australian Research Council report. It has also earned a prestigious ranking among the top 400 universities worldwide according to both the QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education rankings, placing it within the top 3% of higher education institutions globally. Griffith University is also the ninth-largest higher education institution in Australia, offering approximately 300 undergraduate degrees across various academic disciplines. The university is committed to helping international students make the most of their time in Australia by providing quality education, guidance, and support. With more than 200 academic programs and a strong reputation for research and teaching excellence, Griffith University continues its pursuit to become a globally leading university. The university also aims to have a positive impact on society and individuals through teaching, research, and academic activities, engaging students as partners in their education, bringing disciplines together to address major issues, and promoting respect for individual rights and ethical standards. Griffith University includes five campuses located in the Gold Coast and Logan City areas, as well as in the Brisbane suburbs of Mount Gravatt, Nathan, and South Bank. The Gold Coast campus is the university’s largest campus, with more than 18,000 students, and it features a wide range of advanced facilities, offering education and research in almost all disciplines. The campus is just minutes away from the world-famous beaches of the Gold Coast, providing a dynamic and ideal lifestyle for students, with comprehensive sports facilities and a variety of cafes and restaurants. The campus has also experienced significant growth and development with the opening of the Griffith Health Centre and the launch of the Griffith Business School building. Students and visitors can also relax in the “Red Zone,” which features interactive technology and large projection displays showcasing Griffith University’s latest research. The pleasant climate in southeast Queensland, the distinctive landmarks, and the university’s reputation and global ranking are among the many reasons that attract international students to Griffith University.
